Programme 2023

The Lößnitzgrund Radebeul is one of the most beautiful recreational areas in Radebeul - and has a long tradition. Even the naturopath Friedrich Eduard Bilz, who worked in Radebeul for many years and after whom the natural swimming pool "Bilz-Bad" is still named today, pointed out the purifying character of the landscape. In September 2023, the Landesbühnen Sachsen, together with the city of Radebeul, the music school of the district of Meißen and the Sanro children's circus (part of the Radebeul Children's Protection Association), will once again turn the Lößnitzgrund into a place of play, cultural exchange and encounters, dedicating itself to nature and its wonders in the spirit of Eduard Bilz.
The event will begin with a hike to the idyllic clearing »Kleine Feder«, located diagonally opposite the »Lößnitzgrund« bus stop. Once we arrive at our destination, we play, eat and enjoy life. The programme is organised by the Landesbühnen Sachsen in collaboration with its partners. The event is based on the »Der Lößnitzgrund ruft« initiative, which was launched by the city of Radebeul in 2019 to revitalise the local recreation area in a sustainable way and beyond the annual Karl May Festival. In 2021, the Landesbühnen Sachsen staged the Karl May classic »Winnetou I« and in 2022, the "Knochenspiel" took place around the theme of the cultural rites of indigenous peoples of North America.

Tour 1 "Children's tour"

Starting from the »Mohrenhaus«, our hike takes us to the Black Pond, where we will take our first break accompanied by music. We will then continue via the Lindenau sports ground to the Bilzbad, where anyone interested can try out the barefoot path, among other things. Our last stop before our destination »Kleine Feder« is the stop »Lößnitzgrund«, where we will again offer the opportunity for a musical break.

Tour 2 "Health hike"

Including parts of the Bilz circular route, we will walk from Augustusweg via Eduard-Bilz-Straße, Weinbergstraße, Hoflößnitzstraße past Hoflößnitz in the direction of Grundmühle into Lößnitzgrund. From Lößnitzgrund we will then walk to »Kleinen Feder« and will arrive there between 12 noon and 12.15 pm. Elements of gymnastics according to Bilz will be introduced and practised on the tour.

Tour 3 "In the valley of the vineyards"

This tour will start at the Landesbühnen and then lead past the Weißer Ross via Nizzastraße and Weinbergstraße to the Karl Friedrich Aust winery.

There will be a stopover with the opportunity to hear the horn player play. From there, the route continues along Lößnitzgrundstraße, along the Lößnitzbach stream to »Kleinen Feder«, past the stop of the Lößnitzgrundbahn railway.

Tour 4 "Karl-May-Tour"

The Lößnitzgrund is calling! - We follow this call in Karl May's footsteps and cordially invite you to a walk with musical accompaniment.

Karl May himself also sought peace, rest and relaxation in the Lößnitzgrund and found inspiration for his novels there. The starting point of our hike is the Karl May Grove, opposite Karl May's last residence, Villa Shatterhand. From here, we will reach the »Little Feather« via various places where you can learn exciting facts about Karl May's life and work.

Tour 5 "Forest Tour"

We start at Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Radebeul. We first cross the middle-class part of the town, along the northern Meißner Straße. We take the Terrassenweg through the vineyards past the Jägerhof to Spittelholz. We are already in the forest! A ravine path leads us down towards Lößnitzgrund, where we follow the Bilzrundweg for a while. Finally, we cross the railway tracks of the Lößnitzdackel, from where it is not far to the »Kleinen Feder«.

We will take anin-depth look at the forest and learn about the different types of trees and the forest floor.

12:20 pm: Arrival of all hikers at the destination »Kleine Feder« with a concert by the music students of the music school of the district of Meißen
13:00: Bilz gymnastics
13:15: Opportunity for a picnic and free play
14:00: Performance by the Sanro children's circus
14:30: Volleyball match with the Shatterhands e.V. sports club (amateurs vs. professionals)
3. 00 pm: optional: guided tour of the Bilzbad with a visit to the wave pool machine
